VAN TRIP JAPAN now runs two Bed Bongo campervans. From 15 October 2026, MATCHA LATTE joins HOUJICHA, our original Bongo, at our base in Fukuoka, about 10 minutes from Fukuoka Airport. Both vans have the same layout and the same price, so the choice comes down to how you like to travel.

MATCHA LATTE and HOUJICHA at a glance

HOUJICHA

MATCHA LATTE

The same in both vans: up to 3 seats, a double bed inside (190 × 135 cm) that sleeps 2, and the same price, from ¥22,000/day on weekdays.

Which Bongo should you choose?

Choose HOUJICHA if you plan to stay several nights in one place, such as a campsite by the sea. Solar charging tops up the sub-battery while the van is parked.

Choose MATCHA LATTE if your route moves on every day, such as a loop from Fukuoka through Beppu and Kagoshima. High-output charging refills the sub-battery efficiently while you drive.

The sleeping space, the seats and the price are the same in both vans.

What both Bongo vans include

Fuel, tolls and the ¥50,000 deposit are extra. The ETC card is free on advance request.

How to book a specific Bongo

Travelling in a Bongo in winter

The Bongo vans have no heater. For trips from December to February we lend a free electric blanket, plus sleeping bags and blankets on request. In winter we suggest coastal and lowland routes rather than mountain roads that can be icy. If you want a heater, the Pocket Loft has a cabin heater.
