Rental Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing VanTrip Japan. These terms apply to all campervan rentals operated by キャンプ女子株式会社 (Camp Joshi Inc.). Please read them carefully before booking.
1. Rental Period & Eligibility
- Minimum rental period: 2 days
- Drivers must be at least 21 years old with a valid driving license recognized in Japan
- Accepted licenses: International Driving Permit (Geneva Convention), or JAF-translated license (Taiwan, Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, etc.)
- Pick-up and return is at our Hakozaki Base (10 min from Fukuoka Airport)
2. Pricing & What's Included
All daily rental rates include:
- ✅ Vehicle insurance (CDW — Collision Damage Waiver)
- ✅ Basic camping gear set
- ✅ English navigation system
- ✅ Portable power station
- ✅ 24/7 roadside assistance
- ✅ Multilingual support (English, German, French, Chinese)
- ✅ ETC card (electronic highway toll — pre-registration required)
3. Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit of ¥50,000 is collected at pick-up. This deposit covers:
- Any ETC (highway toll) charges incurred during your rental
- Any fuel shortfall if the vehicle is not returned with a full tank
- Any minor damages not covered by insurance
The deposit (minus any applicable charges) is fully refunded within 7 business days after vehicle return. If the total charges (including highway tolls, fuel shortfall, damage deductibles, or non-operation charges) exceed the ¥50,000 security deposit, the remaining balance will be charged to the renter's registered credit card on file.
4. Insurance & Accident Liability
4.1 Included Insurance (CDW)
All rentals include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance as part of the daily rate. This covers:
- Third-party liability (対人・対物)
- Vehicle damage (車両損害)
4.2 Deductible (免責額 / Excess)
In the event of an accident, the renter is responsible for a deductible (excess) amount:

You may optionally purchase a CDW Deductible Waiver to reduce or eliminate the deductible. Ask us for details at booking.
4.3 Non-Operation Charge (NOC / 休業補償)
If the vehicle is damaged and cannot be rented to the next customer, a Non-Operation Charge will apply:

| Vehicle is NOT drivable (towing required) | ¥50,000 |
The NOC applies regardless of fault and is separate from the insurance deductible.
4.4 Not Covered by Insurance
Insurance does NOT cover:
- Damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Damage caused by unauthorized drivers
- Damage to tires, wheels, undercarriage from off-road or unpaved driving
- Interior damage, loss of personal belongings
- Violations of traffic laws (fines are the renter's responsibility)
5. Fuel Policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel. Please return the vehicle with a full tank. If the fuel level is below full, refueling charges will be deducted from the security deposit at market rate + a ¥3,000 refueling service fee.
6. Cancellation Policy

7. One-Way Drop-Off
One-way trips (pick up in Fukuoka, drop off in Tokyo or Osaka) are available with a surcharge. Please contact us for pricing.
8. Prohibited Use
- Off-road driving or beach driving
- Smoking inside the vehicle (¥50,000 cleaning fee)
- Driving outside of Japan
- Sub-leasing the vehicle
- Towing other vehicles
