Takachiho Gorge is one of Kyushu's most spectacular natural wonders — a volcanic gorge with 17-meter waterfalls, emerald pools, and mythical significance in Japanese legend. It is best reached by campervan since there is no train service.
What to See

Parking & Access
Free parking is available about 10 min walk from the gorge. Paid parking (500 yen) is closer. The gorge is open 24 hours but boats operate 7:30am-5pm.

- Autumn: Spectacular fall colors reflecting in the water
- Summer: Cool gorge temperatures, refreshing mist from falls
