  • Security Deposit: ¥50,000 — Collected at pick-up and refunded within 7 business days after return (minus tolls, fuel or other charges, if any).
  • Accident Deductible (免責額): In case of an accident, a deductible of up to ¥100,000 for vehicle damage and ¥100,000 for property damage applies.
  • Non-Operation Charge (NOC): If the vehicle is damaged and cannot be rented (business downtime), a charge of ¥20,000 (if drivable) or ¥50,000 (if towing is required) applies.
  • Zero-Risk Full Cover Option (+¥5,500/day): Highly recommended. Waives all deductibles to ¥0, waives the NOC for your first accident, and covers tire punctures and towing.
  • If you have an accident: Japanese law requires you to call the police (110) from the scene for every accident, even a small scrape, and then to message us on WhatsApp right away. Without a police report, the deductible limits and the Zero-Risk cover do not apply and you pay the full repair cost.

We're a small family team based in Fukuoka. Every van is set up the way we'd want to travel ourselves, and our two Bongo vans have hand-built interiors, with the beds, power systems and fittings made by hand. No corporate fleet. No call centers. Just us, our vans, and a genuine passion for helping travelers discover the real Kyushu.

From booking to return in 8 steps

No counter and no queue. Here is what happens, step by step.

  1. Send a request

    Choose your dates and van on the booking form or on WhatsApp. No payment at this stage.

  2. Karen confirms

    We check availability and send your quote. You only pay after we confirm, through a secure payment link.

  3. Online check-in

    Upload your driving licence (with an International Driving Permit or an official Japanese translation) and your passport, and agree to the rental terms online.

  4. Before you arrive

    We send the key-box code and directions to our Hakozaki base on WhatsApp, about 10 minutes from Fukuoka Airport.

  5. Pick up any time

    Self check-in 24 hours a day. The van has a full tank, and the ¥50,000 deposit is collected at pick-up.

  6. On the road

    24/7 roadside assistance, and Karen on WhatsApp for questions about routes, campsites and the van.

  7. Return 9:00–17:00

    Bring the van back to the base with a full tank and leave the key in the key box.

  8. Deposit back

    The deposit is refunded within 7 business days, minus tolls, fuel and any other charges.

No special license is needed. Our campervans are regular-sized vehicles that can be driven with a standard International Driving Permit (IDP). If you're from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, or Taiwan, you'll need a JAF translation instead of an IDP. Our partner JDLTC can handle the entire process for you → See the License section above for full details.
Pick-up and return is at our Hakozaki Base, just 10 minutes from Fukuoka Airport. We can also arrange airport pick-up by prior arrangement. Flexible drop-off locations may be available — just ask!
The base rate includes vehicle insurance (CDW), navigation, and the sleeping, cooking, power, and camping items listed for each vehicle, plus roadside and multilingual rental support. A free ETC card is available on advance request; highway tolls are charged separately. Japan has many great options: auto-campsites, RV parks, and "Michi-no-Eki" roadside stations. While you can't camp just anywhere, there are hundreds of spots across Kyushu. We'll provide a recommended spot guide when you pick up!
Yes! One-way trips are available. Pick up in Fukuoka and drop off in Tokyo or Osaka (or vice versa). A surcharge applies depending on the destination. Contact us via WhatsApp or LINE for a quote — we'll work out the best route for your itinerary!
Singapore is a Geneva Convention country, so you need an International Driving Permit (IDP). Get it from AA Singapore for about SGD 20 — it's available same-day at their offices. Bring both your original Singapore driving licence and the IDP. Direct flights from Changi to Fukuoka take just 3.5 hours, and our base is 10 minutes from the airport!
